BHOOTHATHAN KETTU DAM

A myth connected with the origin of this place says that a natural dam across this periyar river  was built by Bhoothams  overnight. Hence the name Bhoothathankettu

Laying close to Bhoothathankettu is the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary at Thattekkad.

                    Idamalayar Irrigation Project are also located nearby.
